Nasarawa Year 4 SABER Engagement Highlight

Last week, we convened a high-level session on business enabling reforms in Abuja with relevant ministries, departments and agencies of the Nasarawa State Government. This is part of our ongoing support to the state under the World Bank assisted State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER) programme. Discussions covered several key pieces of the State’s push to strengthen its business environment:

1. The Systematic Land Tenure Registration reform,
2. Feasibility study for public-private partnership projects,
3. Land investments using Framework for Responsible and Inclusive Land-Intensive Agricultural Investment (FRILIA) principles, and
4. 4. Automation of tax payment and collection in the state.

This is what embedding with government teams looks like: working session by working session, decision by decision, until the reforms hold on their own.
